“e-Courier is one of the primary reasons that we have experienced good growth during the past two years. We have over 400 couriers operating in 10 states. ALL of these couriers are controlled by our Nationwide Dispatch Center (in one location). These dispatchers assign jobs to couriers and monitor their status real-time using the Internet enabled cellular telephones (Nextel). Our managers, no matter where they are located, can access our full courier software system simply by logging on to the internet. In the case of a system failure in one location, any other location can immediately access all systems functions and take over if needed (we let e-Courier host our courier software primarily for this reason, although IT costs and maintenance are also considerations). In addition to our ease of access to the system, our customers have the same type of interface. Any customer with Internet access (and proper login permissions) can enter orders, review job status, print reports, and even re-print invoices. Because of the way we setup our routes/jobs, our customers can even find out where a courier is on route real-time without having to talk to anyone, simply by clicking on the Internet!”
